Leg Lifters are at it again. They might have made a sonic left turn down a mean and nasty wormhole, but the outcome is something unique and punctual. The title track seems to draw from the Leg Lifters collective background which features members of The Locust, All Leather, Some Girls, Retox, Hot Nerds, and so on. It’s certainly catchy, but overshadowed by abrasive, raw, and tense musical (or non-musical) elements.
The B-side of the single is something very special. Leg Lifters teamed up with Travis Ryan from Cattle Decapitation to deliver homage to one of the more influential songwriters of our time, Lou Reed. “Sunday Mourning” was tracked the day Lou passed away, incorporating lyrics to Velvet Underground’s “Sunday Morning” which are laid over a soundscape that is more akin to what one might expect from Travis Ryan, Nathan Joyner, and Justin Pearson.
