Ward of Roses, 2021, Oil on panel, 24x24”

"While I do use flora quite a bit in my work, I don’t always intend it to be something of beauty. With roses being a traditional symbol of love, the sparrow struggles, acting as Atlas bearing this onus that is both beautiful and agonizing; a dripping, morphing organism that brings great joys as well as blossoms with insecurities and loss. Nonetheless, the burden is welcome.

This painting adorns the cover of The Silver’s album, Ward of Roses, 2021; an album I connected with deeply."

Available as a museum quality Giclee Print in three sizes.
